Answers to common questions, and a way to reach a person. Help with this page
PartMash compares what you advertise against what your suppliers say you may advertise. Most questions are really one question — is this my data or your software? — so that is what this page is built to answer.
Reading your report
Every part we check lands in one of four places.
| Shown as | What it means | Worth acting on? |
|---|---|---|
| At MAP | Your advertised price matches the supplier’s minimum. | No. |
| Below MAP | You are advertising under the supplier’s minimum. | Yes — this is the one that risks your dealer account. |
| Above MAP | You are advertising above the supplier’s suggested price. | Probably — you may be losing the sale. |
| Not compared | Nothing matched it, so we have no opinion on the price. | Yes — “not checked” is not the same as “fine”. |
A part we could not check will never be shown as though it passed. If you only read one line on this page, read that one.
Common questions
A product shows as “not compared”. Is that a problem?
It means we had nothing to check it against — no supplier row matched that part number and brand — so we do not know whether the price is right. It is not the same as “this price is fine”, and we will never show it as if it were. Usually it is a part the supplier does not list, a brand name spelled differently on their side, or a vendor feed you have not connected yet.
Why is a part matched to the wrong brand?
We match on part number and brand together, never the part number alone — bare manufacturer numbers collide badly across brands, and matching on the number by itself invents violations that do not exist. If something still looks wrong, it is nearly always a brand spelled two ways between your store and the supplier. Tell us and we will map them together.
My prices did not refresh last night.
Vendor feeds are pulled every night. If a pull fails — an expired dealer key, a supplier outage — we do not show the old data as if it were fresh. The connection will say when it last succeeded, separately from when it last tried. A connection that has not succeeded for a while is the thing to look at.
My price update was held back and nothing changed.
That is a safety check doing its job. Before writing anything we look at the batch as a whole: how many rows, what share of your catalog, the largest single jump, and the total money being added. A supplier feed with a column mapped wrong, or a decimal in the wrong place, can pass every per-row check and still be badly wrong. Nothing was written. Check the report — especially which supplier and column it came from — and if the numbers really are right, confirm and it will apply.
Some rows would not update even after I confirmed.
A row can only be written back if we know which record it belongs to in your store. Rows imported from a file without those ids are still compared and still reported — they simply cannot be written. That is reported plainly rather than counted as a success.
I cannot sign in.
Use reset your password. The link lasts an hour, works once, and signs out every other session — so if somebody else has been in your account, that removes them. Repeated wrong attempts slow the form down for a while; it clears by itself, so waiting is enough and nothing is locked permanently.
My supplier is not in the list.
Send us the details and we will build it. We write and test each vendor reader against a real account before saying it works — we will not point our server at an address pasted into a box, which is the kind of shortcut that gets a server used to attack things on its own network. Never send us a password or dealer key; there is no field for one and we do not want it in a support queue.
What happens to my data if I leave?
Disconnecting revokes our access immediately. Stored data is deleted within 30 days, and backups age out on the same 30-day clock. Ask us any time and we will tell you exactly what is held for your account.
Still stuck?
Email support@partmash.com. Tell us what you expected, what you saw, and the part number if there is one — that is usually enough for us to answer without a second round trip.
⚠️ Please do not send passwords, dealer keys or API keys. We never need them by email, and a key sent to a support address is one nobody can un-send.
